In looking at the current crop of mobile phones, it’s getting hard to find models that don’t have cameras. So, the new Samsung E105 Mobile Phone is somewhat unique. It has a bright, 64k color display, supports the 900 and 1900 mHz bands so it can be used internationally, and has an external black and white LCD display for caller ID and other status information.
The phone is marketed as messaging-centric. It supports AOL Instant Messager, SMS, and multimedia messaging (you can include photos, animations, or sound with your text messages). But, I am wondering why Samsung emphasizes multimedia messaging with this phone, since it lacks a camera.
This phone is small and light. It’s dimensions are 3.2 x 1.3 x 0.8 inches, and it weights in at 2.6 ounces. This makes it slightly smaller and 1/3 lighter than the LG VX6000 camphone that was reviewed here earlier this month.
The best feature of this phone is the price. With activation on T-Mobile and Amazon.com mail-in rebates, you can buy this phone and ultimately receive $50.01 more than you paid for it. If you want a small mobile phone with a good color screen and no camera, this deal is hard to beat.
