Yesterday, MobileTracker reported that AT&T Wireless is issuing credits to new GSM customers who experienced problems with automatic phone activation. Many sources have previously reported that AT&T was dealing with a pervasive problem in their GSM customer on-boarding process. The problem began at the beginning of this month and lasted for more than two weeks.
It’s not clear how much credit new AT&T customers will receive. The speculation is that the amount of the credit will depend on the amount of time each customer had their new phone before it could be successfully activated. MobileTracker is asking affected customers to tell them how much credit they receive.
