Stephen G. Bush wrote a succinct piece on Brighthand about his success replacing a separate Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone and PDA with a the Motorola MPx200 Smartphone. Bush says, “The Motorola MPx200 Smartphone has convinced me that a convergent device, one that is more cell phone than PDA, can keep me connected and informed.”
According to the article, Bush’s previous solution was an Ericsson T68i used in conjunction with a number of different PDAs. I’ve seen this arrangement demonstrated with both PDAs and laptops. It works well. But, as Bush says, “While that’s an excellent solution, I can’t imagine myself going back to it. Life is so much simpler, and lighter, with one device.”
Regardless of whether you agree with Stephen Bush’s ultimate device choice, this article is worth reading. It could just as easily have been written by a Treo 600 user, for many of the same reasons.
