Treonauts Obtains First-Known GSM Version of Treo 650 for Review

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The folks at Treonauts published an article with the first photos of a working GSM/GRPS version of the Treo 650. The photos were shot in Paris, where Andrew Carton has been speaking at a SixApart-related blogging conference. Andrew wrote:

At long last we have a unit that we can hold, work with, play with, go to sleep with – our own fully unlocked, quad-band, global roaming, super-smartphone [list too long to add] Treo 650 GSM/GPRS!!!

We’ve only had it for a few hours so below are just some of the pictures that we thought you’d most want to see.

Congratulations to Treonauts for scooping everyone in the gadget blogosphere. We all would have liked to be the site that came up with these photos. You deserve all the traffic that you get this week. [ via Gizmodo ]

Update: In a bizarre turn of events, palmOne reportedly reversed itself and asked Treonauts to remove the Treo 650 photos from its website. A return visit to the Treo 650 Preview article shows the Treo 650 cut out of each photo with a digital photo editor, leaving a gaping hole.
