Here’s a quick summary of the workouts that I did last week:
- Monday, March 28: Moderate to heavy rain during the day. Washout.
- Tuesday, March 29: Bike 13.9 miles. Fastest time of the season on this course.
- Wednesday, March 30: Refereed two games in the USA Hockey Boys’ 12 & Under Tier II National Championships, 3 hours and 2200 calories.
- Thursday, March 31: Referee one game in the USA Hockey Boys’ 12 & Under Tier II National Championships, 90 minutes and 1029 calories.
- Friday, April 1: Refereed two games in the USA Hockey Boys’ 12 & Under Tier II National Championships, 3 hours and 1765 calories.
- Saturday, April 2: Referee one of the semifinal games in the USA Hockey Boys’ 12 & Under Tier II National Championships, 90 minutes and 787 calories. Not sure the transmitter accurately recorded my heart rate for part of the game.
- Sunday, April 3: Referee one game in the New Jersey State Police Silver Bullets Hockey Tournament, 75 minutes and 681 calories. Fairly competitive but still a men’s industrial league hockey game.
This was a challenging week. I exercised for a total of 11 hours and 30 minutes, burning 7,435 calories. I hadn’t thought that I would spend this much time officiating hockey this week, but it’s good preparation for the Chicago Showcase, coming up in mid-April.
