James Hromadka of TreoCentral.com outlined the differences between the unlocked GSM version of the Treo 650 and the CDMA version that he refers to as the PCS version. This is because Sprint PCS is the carrier where that phone can be used.
I’m not keeping score, but that’s two technology bloggers I’ve seen this week who got themselves an unlocked Treo 650 rather than one with new Cingular Wireless service. This may be because their contracts are not up yet with their existing carrier, but I’m not sure.
