At Midnight Eastern Time, Operation Gadget received the formal announcement that Cingular is taking orders for the palmOne Treo 650. So far, it has appeared for sale on-line in the palmOne Treo Store. There is information available about the Treo 650 on the Cingular website, but the link to order the Treo 650 directly from Cingular has pointed to an empty slot in their e-commerce system all night.
Pricing for the Treo 650 has already been reported widely: the suggested retail price of $549.99 without a contract, and $449.99 with a two-year contract. The press release says:
The Treo 650 will be available later this week for consumers and businesses online at http://web.palmOne.com and at select Cingular retail locations.
It will be interesting to see which Cingular retail locations the Treo 650 appears in first. Good luck getting yours.
