“Unlimited PDA Plan” from AT&T Wireless is Not Really Unlimited

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I probably should have read the Terms and Conditions associated with AT&T Wireless“Unlimited PDA Plan” priced at $49.99 per month. Here is the fine print that I hadn’t read earlier:

The AT&T Wireless Mobile Internet Unlimited PDA Plan may be used with the following wireless devices; PalmOne Tungsten W, PalmOne Treo, Siemens SX56, the Motorola MPx200, or similar AT&T Wireless certified devices for the following purposes: (i) Internet browsing; (ii) e-mail; (iii) intranet access (including access to corporate intranets, e-mail and individual productivity applications like customer relationship management, sales force and field service automation)…. AT&T Wireless further reserves the right to move a subscriber from the Mobile Internet Unlimited PDA Plan to the standard $79.99 monthly unlimited Mobile Internet Data Plan, without notice, if the subscriber uses more than 100 megabytes of data in each of two consecutive months.

The emphasis in the above paragraph is mine.

I think it would be difficult for someone to use 100 megabytes of data on a PDA-type device in a month, but, wouldn’t it have been more accurate for AT&T Wireless to call this a “100 Megabyte PDA Plan”? [ via Smartphone Thoughts ]
